The IB launches an employee profile for staff
The IB has recently launched an ‘employee profile’ to connect, engage, motivate, and focus the effort of our staff.
The IB employee profile is a comprehensive set of behavioural competencies that have been developed to align and underpin the behaviours desired by IB staff. It is in effect, ‘the IB mission statement in action, in the workplace’.
While the profile relates to our values, mission, and objectives, it is also aligned with the IB learner profile which is our mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century that is embraced by students, teachers and schools to unite them in a common purpose.
The following ten behavioural competencies make up the IB employee profile:
- Impact and influence
- Passion for the IB mission
- International-mindedness
- Stakeholder focus
- Managing and developing self and others
- Delivering results
- Teamwork and cooperation
- Driving to improve
- Decision making
- Organizational development
A number of these key behavioral competencies will now form part of staff job descriptions to define areas that are critical to the behaviour and performance of each role within the IB.
This is an exciting initiative for the IB which we hope will unite all staff in order to continue to successfully deliver the IB mission.
