IB announces new Global Head of Communications and Marketing

The Hague, 15 July 2011: The International Baccalaureate (IB), a leader in the field of international education has appointed Bartjan Willenborg as the new Global Head of Communications and Marketing. He joins the organization in July and will be based in the new Global Centre in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Bartjan brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of marketing, communications, branding & research. In his last employment as Director of Marketing EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) with Aon Hewitt based in the Netherlands, Bartjan had overall responsibility for developing and implementing the marketing and communications strategies and programmes across the region that delivered value and measurable return on investment. He has built up marketing and communications infrastructure, established press offices, delivered innovative off and online campaigns and managed large staff groups, often remotely. He has developed brand strategy, awareness and visibility at both regional and national level and established effective marketing campaign governance. Bartjan was educated in the US and holds a BA and MA from the University of Connecticut.

Having operated internationally and headed up both internal and external communications strategy during periods of change, Bartjan is perfectly placed to lead the IB Communications and Marketing team forward as the IB continues to evolve.
