Resignation of academic director, Monique Conn

In early 2007, Monique Conn will be leaving her post as IB academic director to join the academies unit within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). She will be based at the Secretariat of His Highness the Aga Khan, located near Paris, France. In her (new) role of academic director, Monique will be responsible for leading the definition, development, implementation support and quality assurance of the academic programmes throughout the growing Aga Khan Academies network.

Monique has significantly contributed to the IB during the ten years she has served, first as head of the Middle Years Programme, then as head of the programmes division, and in the last three years as academic director, improving programme quality and extending a range of new services to IB World Schools. Her leadership has been greatly valued by the various IB stakeholders, who hold her in high esteem. Although Monique will be leaving the IB in early 2007, she will remain a close collaborator based on her new role and the emerging partnership that the IB is establishing with the Aga Khan Development Network.

We wish Monique the best of luck and continued success as she takes this new step in her career.
