Graciela Borrás de Xanthopoulos
Education has been one of Graciela’s main concerns for the past 34 years. In 1972, she founded “La Esperanza”, a day care centre in San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina. In 1979 she founded St Mary of the Hills School, in San Isidro, Argentina, inspired by very high academic and human values. Keeping this spirit as their goal, they incorporated the IB curriculum into the school: educate for critical, insightful research; educate for mutual understanding and commitment.
After ten years of hard work for the IB, demonstrated by many successful graduates and a highly professional staff, she strongly believes that she has a valuable background and experience to offer the IB: a solid knowledge of IB curriculum coordination; personal and institutional relations with government officials and universities, as well as private organizations.
Graciela is secretary to the Board of Governors and chair of the IB governance committee.
