Curriculum Manager - Continuum Development (Ref 482h)

This new position will be situated in the continuum development department within IB’s academic directorate. The post-holder will lead and manage determined areas related to the development of the IB’s continuum of international education.
Primary responsibilities for the role include leading initiatives and contributing to the ongoing development of the IB continuum; managing the IB global issues/global citizenship website including a virtual community; facilitating global dimensions within IB programmes to promote the addressing of international and global dimensions in IB World Schools; and coordinating the development of resources for the learner profile and managing a learner profile virtual community.
The post-holder will collaborate with staff in the continuum, PYP, MYP and Diploma departments. The scope of this exciting position will involve working closely with other IB departments such as global professional development, global school services, publishing services and IT. The position will involve some international travel.
The ideal candidate will have
- A degree and a teaching qualification
- Experience in teaching in IB World Schools at least one, and preferably more IB programmes
- Excellent IT skills and experience in using emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning
- Experience and/or interest in developing the teaching and learning of global issues/global citizenship
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to communicate in Spanish, French or other languages is desirable
- An ability to lead and work within teams
- Flexibility to accommodate a variety of work arrangements.
