The IB is looking for a passionate and visionary senior IT leader who thinks outside of the box and will lead a dynamic team of IT professionals driving IT initiatives. Some of the initiatives will lead to major transformation of the whole organization. The person will be very creative, have strong negotiation and communication skills and have a successful track record of having lead major IT initiatives.
Reporting to the global IT director, the job holder will drive the whole data transformation of the IB. This will require managing a team of IT specialists that will analyze a huge amount of business data that has been created over the years in various systems and databases with the intent of moving towards a centralized approach.
The job holder will oversee and review all legal and technology issues across the organization. This includes overall responsibility for the IT organization’s corporate governance ensuring that IT is an integral part of the business strategy, including IT policies and procedures, and audit management.
This role sets strategy and develops plans, policies and processes for the accounting and budgeting of IT resources and services, develops and implements business continuity planning, operational frameworks such as ITIL and change management. S/he is also responsible for the identification, assessment and management of risk inherent in the operation of business processes and potential risks arising from IT-enabled change, provides leadership and guidelines on information assurance security expertise for the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, with at least 15 years of experience in IT, including the management of teams of at least 10 people in the past 10 years
- Extensive experience in dealing with teams from multiple countries is advantageous
- Demonstrable understanding of technology directions, trends and strategic business impacts
- Ability to think strategically, tactically and operationally and to keep pace with rapidly to changing technology and apply appropriate technology to business needs
- Proven track record in the management of multiple, cross-functional teams and programmes, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders whilst meeting time and cost goals
- A deep and broad background in all aspect of Information Technology; in depth knowledge of a broad range of frameworks such as CobiT, ITIL and of ISO and BS standards
- Experience in defining, implementing and enforcing risk-based standards, processes and procedures for responding to disruptions in business or IT operations
- Experience in creating and defining new operational models and procedures, and explaining complex problems or situations
- Proven ability to communicate with people at all levels — from developers to the board of directors
- In-depth knowledge of the law relating to the use of technology
- An understanding of, and interest in, international education and student assessment
