Primary Years Programme regional manager (IBNA)

The North American regional office of International Baccalaureate (www.ibo.org), a non-profit educational organization that offers curriculum and assessment worldwide is looking for a PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME REGIONAL MANAGER.  This post reports to the Deputy Regional Director.

Salary Band (Level 5) US $54,364 – US $72,484

The PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME REGIONAL MANAGER coordinates, for the IB North America region, all activities related to the Primary Years Programme (PYP). These activities include collaboration on professional development, IB North America and IB strategic planning, school application, school authorization, programme evaluation and programme development. The programme manager supervises an associate in the department to ensure that programme activities and school support are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.

The position will involve:

  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate all aspects of regional services, which support the PYP implementation process, ensuring quality, timeliness and professionalism.
  • Provide service to school communities related to effective programme implementation which leads to programme enhancement, collaboration and sustainability.
  • Consult with senior staff and other management regarding policy, procedures and practices related to the development of the Primary Years Programme in the North American region.
  • Liaise and collaborate with IBCA and other IB regional offices on matters related to programme articulation and development to ensure articulation and sustainability.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other regional departments to facilitate programme development in relation to professional development, research, communication, and outreach.
  • Manage and develop the PYP staff in regards to the necessary duties, personal skills and organizational effectiveness related to programme enhancement and development to ensure quality.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree and teaching qualification
  • Experience as a PYP practitioner in an authorized IB School
  • A minimum of five years’ teaching experience
  • A high level of language proficiency in more than one IB official language is highly desirable
  • Relevant administrative, management or leadership experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of, understanding of, and familiarity with international educational systems, policies, trends and practices
  • Active involvement in and awareness of educational philosophies, pedagogy, professional development, curriculum development, research, policy and trends.
  • Experience or participation related to school authorizations, evaluations, accreditations, consultations or site visits
  • Experience related to delivery of professional development, presentations or public speaking
