University liaison and research manager
Contract starts August 2007
The university liaison and research manager will join the IB Diploma team currently headed by the Diploma Programme regional manager and supported by the DP associate regional manager and the DP assistant. The team is responsible for advising, facilitating, supporting and informing the development and expansion of the Diploma Programme in the Asia Pacific region.
The position involves direct responsibility for working with regional representatives to proactively target university and government recognition in identified strategic countries in the region. Additionally the post holder will be expected to advance a research agenda for Asia Pacific focusing on longitudinal studies and comparative analysis to inform University and Government recognition. As part of the Diploma team, the post will also involve visiting and working with schools throughout the region to maintain quality assurance in consultation, authorization and programme evaluation.
The successful candidate is likely to be an experienced, qualified, highly successful teacher or administrator in an IB-authorized school preferably in the Asia Pacific region. The candidate must have had at least 3 years experience as an IB Diploma coordinator and experience as a University/College Counsellor. The candidate should have relatively recent experience of postgraduate research and an understanding of educational research methodologies.
