Assessment Subject Area Manager - Groups 1&2 (Language and Literature) Ref 247

Salary: £31,000 - £37,000

Closing date: 28 March 2008

The key purpose of the post is to manage the assessment provision of the language and literature courses within groups 1 and 2 of the Diploma Programme, namely language A1, language A2, language B and ab initio languages.

The postholder will be responsible for all assessment activities, for example, grade awarding, examination paper preparation and developing assessment models as part of the curriculum review process.

You will be expected to work closely with the Subject Area Managers in Groups 1 and 2 as well as other departments within the Academic and Assessment Directorates.

You will have a relevant first degree and previous experience of working in an assessment environment, eg an examining/awarding body or school.  You should have excellent organisational and communication skills, and hands-on experience of managing teams. The ability to work in English is essential and the capability to work in at least one other IB language (French/Spanish) would be useful. Teaching experience would also be valued.
