Head of Middle Years Programme

Salary – c. £45,000 per year

This is a senior academic post responsible for leading the development of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and managing the structure to support it. The ability to encourage new ideas and perspectives that may shape the future of the MYP, while ensuring the continued vitality, relevance, and quality of the programme, is essential.  So too is the capacity to demonstrate intellectual leadership through sharing knowledge of relevant research and recent developments in education in the middle years of schooling across the world. A knowledge of developments in the other IB programmes is important to ensure effective articulation between them. This is a very exciting, dynamic job that requires great vision, energy and commitment.

Applicants should have proven leadership and managerial skills, and experience of teaching and/or administering the MYP.  A high level of language proficiency in more than one IB official language (English, French and Spanish) is highly desirable, but the ability to communicate effectively in English on all matters related to MYP development is essential.

This is a full-time position based at the IB offices at Peterson House in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom, and will involve travel abroad. The starting date for this post will be negotiable.
