HR Associate Manager Ref 708a

Under the supervision of the Head of Human Resource for the Americas the HR Associate Manager provides overall operational HR support for the Americas regional and global staff. Communicate and interpret all human resources policies, programs and services, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, employee communications and employee events.  Oversee the coordination, delivery and implementation of entry level employee training (soft skills and technical). As well as lead entry to med level HR initiatives regionally. lead entry to mid level recruitment efforts. Serve as internal consultant to company mid management team and employees on personnel issues that affect performance and business relationships.  Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by IB.  The post holder has to build good working relationships with all staff within the Americas and key global partners as well as vendors in order to provide excellent support and efficient program management.

The HR Associate Manager will be responsible for:

  • Resolve mid level employee relations matter as needed. (Investigations, consulting, etc.) Acts as a liaison between the employee and mid level management to ensure problems are resolved and positive employee relations is maintained.
  • Coordinate level 3 & 4 level training.
  • Organize and oversee the level 1 &2 level training.
  • Research and recommend additional training offerings based on business needs
  • Provide support for recruitment process for the Americas to help expedite filling all open positions and lead assigned recruiting efforts as assigned.
  • Assist with securing work permits if needed
  • Research and keep current on all legal compliance areas for EEOC, FSLA, Wage and Hour in the US
  • Lead the new employee orientation process and induction into the IB office.
  • Lead and coordinate HR initiatives / programs (training, staffing, on boarding, etc.) 
  • Decisions as to which issues / questions to escalate to management.
  • Decide action to take on external and internal communication relating to HR matters.
  • Decide on which applicant to refer on in the interview process.
  • Prioritize tasks, projects against the HR global  and regional calendar
  • Other duties are performed as assigned by the HR Manager

 Requirements:

 

  • Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources (at least 5 years of relevant HR experience required and ideally 3 years in global organisations)
  • Degree with HR experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience required for this position
  • Ability to relate well with others at all levels, work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, priorities, meet deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (HR Oracle experience a plus)
  • Exercise sound independent judgment; interpret, apply, explain and reach sound decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, rules and policies relating to HR / IB manners
  • Dependent upon to complete work in a timely and accurate manner
  • Must be able to speak and write in English, French or Spanish a plus
  • Demonstrate and champion the IB vision and values

The HR Associate Manager post will be temporarily located in the NY office and will relocate to the Washington D.C. area within 4 –6 months.
