Subject area manager - groups 1 & 2 (language and literature) Ref 120

Salary: £30,284 - £35,581 *

Closing date: 2 February 2007

This position will support the development and management of the language and literature courses within groups 1 and 2 of the Diploma Programme namely language A1, language A2, language B and ab initio languages. A particular responsibility will be to support foreign language courses.

You should be a qualified graduate teacher of foreign/second languages at secondary level. Experience of developing curriculum and assessment for foreign language studies in schools or of teaching Group 2 language courses in the IB Diploma Programme would be an advantage. The ability to work in English is essential and a working knowledge of other languages (including Spanish) would be an advantage. Experience of teaching literature and of working in an

international context would also be beneficial. The ability to work within a team and to take individual responsibility and initiative are also essential requirements of the position.
