Quarter Four, 2006
Middle Years Programme
Over the past six weeks, eleven MYP workshops were conducted in Singapore, Hanoi and Shanghai, with 210 participants from the region. Our sincere gratitude to all MYP workshop leaders and host schools who helped make these events possible.
The Online Curriculum Centre (OCC) has come a long way since its inception in 2002. We strongly encourage teachers to make it their first “port of call” when developing unit plans. Its wide variety of resources include original works created by MYP teachers from global candidate and authorized schools, along with other materials they have found useful in advancing their students’ learning. Likewise, we encourage teachers to post examples of lesson and unit plans, assessment tasks and rubrics, and any other resources they have developed.
At the OCC, teachers can also find extensive teacher support materials, including some that are new for September 2006 for Language B and Technology, examples of school-specific objectives, assessment criteria, tasks and rubrics and
Personal Project online support materials. The teachers’ forum on the OCC is another rich source of support for MYP teachers, especially those who work in professional isolation.
